Telecom or telecommunication refers to the science and practice of transmitting information through electronic means. It is the most widely used mode of communications especially via Phones and the Internet. The total number of telephone connections as of 2019 in India are approximately 1183 million. The largest telecom companies in India include Vodafone, Airtel, Jio, BSNL etc.

1. Contact Telecom Company:
Firstly you should try to resolve the complaint by calling on the customer care number of the telecom company. All the telecom companies have 24*7 working customer care numbers specially designed for the help of the consumers as they value their satisfaction. 2. Contact Nodal Oficer:
If the company itself is not willing to resolve your complaint, then there are other steps which can be taken. If the customer is not satisfied by the response provided by the call center team of the service provider then he/she should contact the Nodal Officer of the service provider and lodge his/her complaint.
3. Report to Government:
You can even file a complaint at the website of Department of Telecommunication here http://dot.gov.in/public-grievances This website is created by the Government of India to help resolve telecommunication complaints of the consumers.
Further, you can contact the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) and express your dissatisfaction against a telecom company. The TRAI’s customer care number is 011-2323 6308. The TRAI, however, does not look into individual complaints but will ask you to file a complaint through the Telecom Consumers Complaint Monitoring System (TCCMS) portal of TRAI (http://www.tccms.gov.in/).
4. Send Legal Notice:
A consumer can send legal notice to telecommunication company in case it is unable to resolve his complaint. It is one of the efficient ways to handle the issue legally. Check below to know how to send a legal notice to a telecom company?
Step 1: Firstly, get a legal notice drafted by a lawyer.
Step 2: Check it properly and make sure it is signed by a lawyer.
Step 3: Keep a copy of it for future purposes.
Step 4: Send the legal notice to Courier company by registered post.
Step 5: Keep the slip or delivery report for evidence.
5. File consumer forum case:
Consumer forum deals with consumer complaints and you should approach the consumer forum if you feel that your rights as a consumer have been violated. If the telecom company is not responding to your complaints even after sending legal notice by a lawyer then you should file a case against it in a consumer court.

Step 1: Intimate the aggrieved party via legal notice.
Step 2: Draft the consumer complaint.
Step 3: Attach all the relevant documents and proofs to support your complaint.
Step 4: Select the appropriate court or consumer forum for filing the complaint.
Step 5: Pay the prescribed court fee that is required to be paid along with the complaint.
Step 6: Submit the case along with the affidavit & fees in the court.
