The rush on e-commerce websites has increased drastically. Now and then, people order tonnes of goodies for their friends, families, relatives. The pressure builds upon the e-commerce staff as well to provide the best services to their customers. Accidents and damages are bound to happen under such pressures.
Damages increase whenever there is a sale or discounted schemes during festivals. During this peak of orders, deliveries of fake products also increase. What’s worse? No return of items! How can we come out of this mess? Here’s what you can do!
How to identify a damaged product?
Whenever you receive a product, if the outer box is damaged, there are chances that the inside product may also be damaged. The product may look unfamiliar from the time you have placed the order. Have a thorough check of the products and inform the e-commerce portal as soon as you can.
The products are damaged due to the following reasons as well-
Improper handling of goods
Inappropriate size of the box
Insufficient cushioning material in the packaging
Non-wrapping of all the contents inside the boxes
Delivering perishable items in a rush
Damages occurring due to weather conditions
How to report these damaged products?
Contact the e-commerce portal
Call the e-commerce portal as soon as you receive a damaged product. Place a refund request if the e-commerce authority is not ready to replace your item. You can also report feedback from the orders menu from their websites. Make sure you have not purchased the product from a fake website. Otherwise, there will be no refund/product return nor a guarantee/warranty.
Use social media
Post your complaint on social media, i.e. Instagram, Facebook or Twitter, and tag the official handle of the e-commerce from where you have purchased the item. One has to wait for some time till they answer your query. Also, check whether you can directly message them or not. If yes, then message them and share the details of your order.
Send an email to the customer care support
You can find all the details on the e-commerce website, including their emails. Mail them to their customer support. Hopefully, they should reply over there.
Send a legal notice to the e-commerce website
Hire a lawyer, ask him to draft a legal notice on behalf of you, and send it to the e-commerce website. A legal notice is written in clear-cut words (in this case, a damaged product issue), failing to which the customer can file a lawsuit against the e-commerce company.
File a consumer complaint
