UBER - Package has been stolen

I had booked Uber connect to get my breakfast delivered from Koramangala to whitefield in Bangalore. The Uber partner accepted the booking but upon starting the trip, he said that the destination is too far away and he can’t come so far. I had then asked him to return the package to the restaurant and I would rebook after him cancelling. But, I was shocked to find out that the package hadn’t been returned. I raised an complaint through the Uber app. Uber refused to help me but later on, after *-*hrs, they confirmed that the food was stolen by the partner and he had eaten it. Uber has been lax about assisting with holding this miscreant accountable for our loss.
