Hakimuddin Bootwala filed complaint against UBER on Aug 27, 2024
Dear Sir/Madam,
I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to formally lodge a complaint against Uber regarding an unresolved issue related to a ride I took on ****th May ****** at ***:** AM**.
The total fare for the ride was **₹*****, which I paid in cash directly to the driver as the online transaction failed. I also provided a *-star rating for the ride. Despite this, the Uber app continues to show the amount as pending. This is an error that should have been rectified by the driver upon receiving the payment.
As a result of this pending payment, I am currently unable to book another ride through the Uber app, causing significant inconvenience. I have reached out to Uber to resolve this issue, but their response has been unsatisfactory. They informed me that the window for correcting this payment issue from their end is ** days and that this period has now closed.
However, I firmly believe that I should not be held liable for a system restriction, especially when I have already made the payment. It is unreasonable to expect me to pay twice for the same ride.
Moreover, Uber has discontinued telephone support, and all my attempts to resolve this matter through their app have been met with automated, template responses that do not address the issue. This lack of effective customer support has only added to my frustration.
I kindly request the Consumer Forum to intervene in this matter and help ensure that Uber clears the pending payment from my account so that I can resume using their service without further hindrance. I am seeking a prompt resolution to this issue, as the payment has already been made and verified from my end.
