Devlin Roy filed complaint against UBER on Oct 23, 2021
I booked an Uber for home on **nd October, ****. The fare shown was ***. I got into the ride, but midway the driver said he had to run an errand and forcibly ended the ride midway and asked me to get off in the middle of the road.
I irdered for another Uber for completing the rest of my journey and paid Rs ***.*. Due to this break in journey for no fault of mine, I had to pay Rs ***.**+***.* = Rs ***.**, which is Rs *** extra over the actual fare of Rs *** that was to be paid by me.
I wrote to Uber customer service and asked them to refund the excess fare, but they declined to do so.
Instead of making payment to driver, Uber should penalise him for dropping the passenger mid-way without warning in an unsafe manner. If the driver did not want to drop me off at the location, he should have not accepted the ride in the first place.
Uber agreed for the ride at ***. I should be charged that. Not more not less. Hope you understand, that this has caused me great agony as I am a disabled person and I had to wait on the roadside for ** minutes too for no fault of mine.
As per the law too, if any public transport company does not complete the ride, then either it has to arrange alternate transport free of cost or has to refund the amount taken.
