Jyothi filed complaint against UBER on Dec 13, 2019
On Dec. **th I took Uber Go from Andheri to Nariman Point and the estimated fare shown was ~Rs. *** including the toll fee as Uber by default shows the route through the Worli sea link. However, I asked the driver to not take the sea link and instead go on Jamshedji Tata road, Cadel Road (past Shivaji Park) and then Worli Sea face. Along the route I noticed the App wasn't updating to the new route and kept showing the route through sea link which I assumed was probably a network error. Upon arrival at destination, I noticed the charge included the toll fee. I tried to raise a complaint through the App but kept getting a message that the fare charged is same as the estimated fare shown upfront. It took me google searches to find a way to write to Uber as the App blocks every logical way to contact Uber. Finally Uber responded with the same standard reply that the route I took included a toll route and have been correctly charged. I have asked them to call the driver and verify this information and have also highlighted exactly what has happened here. This amounts to cheating a customer when the App itself was acting faulty and Uber can check that I have not complained when I have taken the toll route in the past. Why will I complain now if I indeed took that route? Why should I pay extra when I deliberately avoided that route as there was no traffic?
