Chitardas filed complaint against UBER on Apr 12, 2021
I took an Uber pool trip in Oct ****. Before booking the ride the fare was Rs *** and I had paid Rs *** through Paytm account successfully at the end of the trip. After few days, when I checked the app, there was a pop up showing Rs ***.** outstanding due which would be charged at the next ride. I contacted Uber support, explained the story to multiple representatives because few of them did not check archive records. Their reply was getting back with a solution as soon as possible, raising the concern with expert team. I had tried reinstalling the application as they advised. At one point of time, a representative said the charges had been dropped and I could book a ride and the pop up for outstanding due also disappeared. But I knew it was not resolved, So I stopped using Uber for about a year and due to Covid. In Feb ****, I used Uber again, a cash payment trip at the end of the ride, this time Uber succeeded in charging me the outstanding due Rs ***. That day I ended up paying the ride fare including the outstanding due. This outstanding due is nowhere related to me. This is a fraudulent charge which Uber imposed in my account. The email support team is just beating around the bush with no solution. This is actually not about the money. It is about how Uber can create a glitch in accounts and try to snatch money from customers by imposing some unknown outstanding amount and I am not letting them win this time. There is still Rs *.** outstanding due showing up in account which I have to clear in my next trip.
I paid this Rs *** as cash to the driver and I was on my way to work. I was late and reluctant to argue with the driver about this extra charge because there was no point arguing with the driver because he had to take the amount whatever was shown on the screen at the end of the ride. It was the month end of Feb **** and I had less cash left in my hand and I had to adjust by borrowing from friend and it was such an emotional torture of getting no resolution from Uber’s end.
