I made a fully paid * night * day (**,**,**,** Feb ****) hotel booking in Varanasi through Cleartrip. When I reached the hotel to check in, the hotel had no reservation under my name made through Cleartrip. When I called Cleartrip customer care about this, they said that it is a mistake from their side and offered to make an alternative booking in another hotel. They gave some hotel choices but I was not okay with it. After many hours of phone calls, they made a one day booking in a hotel of my choice and gave another hotel for the remaining nights, for which I was not okay. As it was becoming dark and I had my family with me, I first checked in into the hotel, and then next day early in the morning itself, called Cleartrip that I do not want to shift to the other hotel that they provided and asked it to be cancelled. The point to be noted here is that Cleartrip made these bookings from their end and hence I did not have an option to cancel it from my end. Even after asking Cleartrip to cancel the *nd hotel, Cleartrip did not cancel it and refused to refund the money. The reason they provided is that the hotel did not refund the booking amount, so Cleartrip cannot refund it to me.
All of this mess was created by Cleartrip and they tried to wiggle out of the whole situation like it wasn't their fault at all. Cleartrip carelessness and unprofessionalism had me and my family stranded, embarrassed and stressed in an unknown city. Because of their mistake all my travel plans got messed up.
Cleartrip is guilty of leaving me stranded on the road with my family and luggage even though I had a fully paid hotel reservation through their platform.
Cleartrip is guilty of forcing us to stay in hotels that were not of my choice.
Cleartrip is guilty of refusing to refund the hotel booking money that I requested to be cancelled and gave me no option to cancel it on my own
Cleartrip is guilty of causing me and my family lot of inconvenience, mental trauma and humiliation in a new unknown city.
Cleartrip is guilty of causing a person suffering from anxiety (me), more anxiety and stress.
