I booked * tickets via Cleartrip for a return flight from Dubai to Cochin for me and my wife for the *th of March for **** AED(***** Rs). I booked this in December ****. Then in March, I got a mail from the airlines that my flight has been canceled because of the pandemic and I would get a full refund because canceled it from their side. I called up the airlines and they said the same thing but asked me to contact the agency I booked with. So I have been mailing Cleartrip since March for the refund. But they have been telling me the airlines have to respond. Till this day I haven't got anything back. I lost my job in Dubai and had to return to India so I lost my account there is gone recently after waiting so long. So I gave them the account I have here. They responded by saying *** AED approximately ***** Rs will be refunded. This was one month ago and I still haven't got any money back. I never requested or opted for an open ticket as that's what they say when I ask why the amount is reduced. As per Airline rules, a full refund should be given if the airlines cancel the flight. Why am I being penalized for the airline's issues? I understand it is the pandemic because of which I have patiently waited for so long. But shouldn't I be getting a full refund? I have been unemployed for * months now. I humbly request the people of Voxya to help me with this refund. There is no reason for a penalty as I haven't done anything wrong here and have patiently waited for so long. I really need the money. I hope you can help me get my refund back.
