- FAILURE TO REFUND AMOUNT Offered Resolution
I have made four separate flight bookings for myself and my family members on https://www.easemytrip.com in the month of February **** for travel dates falling on **/**/** and **/**/**. while making the purchase, I have also opted for a zero cancellation insurance at an additional cost of Rs.*** per head to make sure that I get a full refund incase of cancellation due to unforeseen circumstances. The cost of tickets added upto Rs. **,***/-. After nation wide lockdown was announced from **/**/**, I tried cancelling the tickets online through their portal, but couldn't as the refund amount being displayed on screen was very meagre. so I emailed their customer care instead mentioning that I've paid extra and opted for zero cancellation insurance to make sure that I get full refund in such circumstances. Later on, I've also put in a request for cancellation through their mobile app. However the company executives deliberately kept skirting the issue and claimed that I'd only get a nominal refund as the airlines are not providing full refund. I explained to them that it was easemytrip that took the additional insurance amount of Rs.*** from me and not the airline, and hence easemytrip was liable to pay the full refund. The same issue was debated back and forth continuously and till date upon multiple followups, they have only released a total refund of Rs.****/-
I and my wife have wasted a number of hours trying to talk to them on the phone for what is a very routine matter in any other country.
