My vehicle met with an accident in the wee hours of **th Feb. The car was towed to the nearest Honda service station. A survey was done by the insurance company and the service centre prepared a repair estimate of Rs. *,**,***. As per schedule GR * of India Motor Tariff, if the aggregate repair cost is more than **% of the Insurance Declared Value(IDV), the same is to be considered as a Constructive Total Loss and the insurer is supposed to pay the IDV as per the policy. The insurer has been denying this claim and contesting that their liability is much lower. I have approached everyone from customer support to the Chief Grievance Redressal Officer in Tata AIG but my please have not fallen on deaf ears. My car has been lying in shambles at the service centre and racking up huge parking bills. These monopolistic practices of the Insurer are completely against the law of the land and the principles of natural justice. I have been completely traumatized chasing them for something that they are bound to pay anyway.
