- Air India not refunding or reboking 4 tickets Open
I had booked * tickets by travel agent with Air india for dates earlier this year,
from BOM to FRA. Due to corona, these tickets were unable to be used, and Air India
put out an official waiver stating the following
'All tickets irrespective of their date of purchase will be considered
valid till ** December****irrespective of their current validity and ticket type
i.e. The Value of the ticket will be fully protected.The booking must be done before
**st December **** and journey must be completed latest by **st December ****.
Waiver:Change:One FREEChange (Date/Flight/Routing/Booking Code) will be allowed.
Applicable conditions w.r.t change*)Date/Flight/Booking Code Change:
a.In case of same RBD available but fare is higher, fare difference will be waived.
b.Applicable fare difference will be charged in case of fare in other RBD (other than lower or same RBD) is higher'
Ofcourse, no such change was ever made possible.
I have called them at least ** times, ewach time waiting in a call queue for at least ** minutes, and when a representative finally picks up,
they say they have to transfer the call to the so called 'refund and rebooking department'. Most of these calls simply keep ringing,
nobody feels the need to reply to a customer. On the few occasions (* exactly) where I DID actually speak to someone,
they told me I would be receiving a call within ** hours (that's ANYTIME within the next ** hours, mind you, day or night)
to confirm my booking. No such call ever came. I had my phone on ring for * nights, and nothing came...
I did receive about ** emails from them, telling me to contact the travel agent for a refund. Upon doing this, the travelo agency told me that
they would be unable to cancel or refund the tickets, as the original date of departure had passed. I GUARANTEE air India knows this,
and still tells me to contact them, knowing they won't be able to help.
I REFUSE to be bullied and ripped off by them, they owe me ****** rupees.
Despite the many hours of hassle I have gone through, all I am looking for is
a full, fair refund, not even an apology.
Please help me Voxya!
