Makemytrip india Pvt Ltd - Voluntary hiding of information

I have a travel planned to Kozhikode in Month of January as i am a student of IIM Kozhikode and there is a campus visit planned by the Institute. But by mistake when i booked my flight on *st Nov, i booked flight to Kochi instead of Kozhikode. My flight details are as below:

I booked both the flights through Make My Trip.com
But within * hours of booking, i realised that i have made a wrong booking and i tried to cancel it on MMT. MMT showed the total cancellation charges as Rs **** in which Airline cancellation charges were Rs ****.
i approached AirIndia within * hours giving all these details and got an auto reply that i will be contacted in ** hours.

But there had been no reply from Air India and then i called up MMT to check with them if they can support. MMT said that you have called us after ** hours so we can not do anything. if i would have called within ** hours, then according to DGCA policy , the airline would have given full refund.
My issue with Makemytrip is that why have they not the information public about cancellation within ** hours will give a full refund and why are the charges not calculated automatically keeping the DGCA policy in mind.
Because of their hiding this information, i am facing a loss. i would have cancelled my ticket within ** hours if this information was made available on their website. Lot of people will not be knowing this and will be facing losses.
Thus i request you to please get this issue resolved.
