I purchased my Samsung Z Fold * for over QAR **** in November ****. Despite Samsung’s claims that the phone should be able to withstand several years of use, this has not be the case for me. Based on numerous reviews online there seems to be a worldwide issue with this technology.
After just few months the screen protector on my device cracked with no reason and after just ** months the speaker, when the phone is used in unfold status, stopped working. Samsung repair center established that, with no external damage or reason, the speaker inside the phone has failed and to fix this they need to replace the entire screen. Since they offer only one year warranty, they are asking for over QAR **** to repair this. A complaint to the company complaint department also did not change their stance and they insist to charge for fixing the issue.
Upon online review this particular issue has happened to numerous users of this device. This is a manufacturing defect, poor design and unfair treatment of customers when asking to pay for this issue to be fixed. This is also unreasonable to replace the entire screen, with no issue/defect, to fix a small speaker defect.
Samsung is a great and trusted company and we are using Samsung products for many years. However, Samsung and affiliated vendors need to take responsibility for this defect, fix the issue and not charge their customers unfairly.
