Tejopam Banerjee filed complaint against Samsung on Oct 27, 2024
I am Shri Tejopam Banerjee, a ** years old retired person, resident of Serampore, Hooghly, West Bengal, writing this grievance out of extreme grief and despair. I anticipate that the concern of this senior citizen would be able to draw your kind attention and a sympathetic view would be taken.
I have always been fascinated with the Samsung Company's Flip mobile from the very beginning of its release. Driven by my long-awaited dream and relying upon Samsung company’s reputation, finally I had been able to purchase one Flip * mobile last year (on **.**.****) with the help of my son by spending almost one lakh rupees. We are not such an affluent family and never shows this kind of lavishness in the past by spending that much amount of money in purchasing a mobile phone. Attaining the fag-end of my life, my son convinced me to purchase this mobile to accomplish one of my dreams.
Unfortunately, within three (**) days, the product found to be defective having a black spot on the screen. The product subsequently got replaced by Samsung Company within a week. However, this is not the end of my trouble.
Being the costliest mobile I ever bought, I have always been using it with extra care and the mobile had never fallen down from my hand till date. However, all of a sudden while receiving one phone call on **.**.****, touch of the entire main mobile screen stopped responding. However, display of the main screen is working fine. Touch and Display of the Small Screen (while folded) is also working fine. Thereafter, I have visited the mobile purchase store (New S Telecom, Serampore) and Service Centre (Shree Krishna Services, **/* G T Road, Serampore) as well. Local Service Centre given resolution to change the Display Panel and which may cost over ** thousand rupees. Job Sheet attached herewith for reference please.
In this regard, it is to inform that my mobile is now only * year and * months old and just crossed the warranty period. The phone had neither fell down from my hand nor the same having any scratches or damage and in a completely brand-new condition (Photos & video attached). I have no clue what so ever, why all of a sudden, the main screen touch stopped working but I can affirm that it did not happened owing to my fault.
Accordingly, I have requested the Samsung Service Head & CEO with a request to consider my case benevolently, as being a retired senior citizen, I am not in a financial position to spent that much amount of money for repairing this phone and as the issue of my mobile has emerged because any of my fault.
However, my request has been rejected by the Samsung Authority.
As I have heard that several customers are facing similar kinds of issues just after expiry of warranty, it appears that Samsung is selling expensive faulty and defective mobiles (specially Flip & Flap series) to their customers with the lucrative advertisements but having no durability. Either they should display the exact statistics in their Advertisement in respect of no of mobiles reported faulty just after crossing the warranty period along with the durability or stop befooling the people with lucrative Advertisements. At least customer should aware about the facts of regarding the durability of the product before spending their hard earned money.
I hope my concern will be taken up your kind authority as being my last resort and necessary direction may be given to Samsung Company under intimation to me.
