Jayshree Iyer filed complaint against Byjus on Mar 29, 2019
This is with respect to the Byju's online tablet course given to my son Siddharth for grade ** and **. We had taken Byju's tablet course for Siddharth when he was in the *nd term of grade *. The package was for grade * and **. Now on **th December ****, one of Byju's employee Mr Bhavesh Khurana (Employee id *********) had called up and he said he would like to personally meet Siddharth in our presence and give him some tips for the **th exam preparation.
We agreed to the meeting. But when he came we realised he had actually come with the intention of selling us the **th and **th tablet course. He told us that many improvisations had been made to the tablet course and he will be given a new Sd card for revision of **th grade. Along with it he also told us that the **th and **th-grade Sd card would also be sent. We said we were not keen on buying that before Siddharth completed his **th board exams. But he said we can take a trial version for ** days and then decide whether to go ahead or not. He also took a photocopy of my Aadhar card, a cancelled cheque leaf of my bank account and my signature on a form (which quite later I realised was the ECS mandate form). On enquiring, he said that the amount has to be paid via a loan from Zest money. We were really not interested for the loan thing but he said that it was the rule if we needed the upgraded **th SD card. Also, he forced us to make the down payment of Rs. **** /- saying that if we do that payment Siddharth will be given a chance to attend the classroom revision coaching conducted in Brigade millennium on weekends. I was really taken aback when he told me that monthly EMI would be debited from my bank account from February **** for the next ** months. And then I asked, " What if I am not taking the course?" He clearly said that the ECS debit would happen only after I confirm. I had clearly requested him twice that I should be given a call regarding confirmation from my side before punching the ECS mandate with zest money. He had agreed on everything. We received both the sd cards on **nd December **** but the **th-grade sd card's pin was not activated. My son called Mr Bhavesh and he said he'll do the needful. But later there was no response from him. In the meantime, my dad expired and with all the **-day rituals we could not follow up the matter. Somewhere around *th of Jan **** I again called up Byju's customer care and told them that the SD card had not been activated. But they couldn't help us much.
On *th Jan ****, Mrs Manmeeta (Byjus employee at their call centre, had called me and in our conversation, she clearly told me that the ** days time period would start from the day of activation and it would end on **th Jan ****. I had sent a mail on "support@byjus.com" for cancellation of the package on **th January **** at around **.** a.m.
But they did not cancel it. After * days when they still did not cancel it I called up the call centre and I was shocked when Mrs Manmeeta (and Ms Deekshita) outrightly lied to me that the last date told to me was **th January **** and not **th.I asked them to send me the clippings of the telephonic recordings but they refused as it is evident that they were caught in their own trap.
After that date, they have not replied to any of my emails. During the entire episode, Mr Bhavesh Khurana who had cheated and sold the package fraudulently continuously had been evading my phone calls.
Noe, the Zest money people who are the loan givers for Byjus are demanding me to pay the Emi's and are sending me messages that they would report my name to the Cibil authorities.
I just want the loan in my name to be cancelled. As of now till Siddharth finishes his **th-grade exams, we do not intend to go ahead with the **th and **th-grade course. So request you to please cancel our order and the loan and revoke the ECS mandate.
