Makemytrip india Pvt Ltd - Refund

Hi Team,

My name is Swamy and I am an Indian who is currently staying in China on a job visa. I planned to go to India on a vacation and I booked a round way flight ticket through MakeMyTrip on *-**-**** which was confirmed and I have the booking Reference ID: NN*************. I supposed to board the flight on Jan ** ****. The booking got cancelled as the Srilankan Airlines Flight was not operational that day because of the covid-** crisis. MakeMytrip should refund my money in **-** business days or in next billing cycle but I have not received yet. When I contacted MakeMyTrip, They said refund will be processed in few days and It's been * months that I haven't received any refund. Ever since the booking is cancelled since then I have been hearing the same thing that they will refund in next month and is happening till date. Finally I received an update that my refund application for ***-********** was sent to Srilankan Airlines is still pending approval. They said that Srilankan Airlines are not processing any refunds currently due to certain internal financial issues. Please note that my friend has also booked for the same flight got a full refund.

Is it my fault booking through MakeMyTrip?
Do they not refund my money if the booking is cancelled?
Is it not MakeMyTrip that they have to return my money when I booked through them and why should I have to go through all the hassle?
It's makeMyTrip that they have to contact Airlines and have the things clarified when they are doing Business with them and acting as a vendor for Airlines.
