Makemytrip india Pvt Ltd - Complaint Regarding Refund Not Processed to Original Payment Method by MakeMyTrip

I am writing to formally raise a complaint regarding the refund handling for my recent holiday booking made through MMT platform.

I had made a booking with a total payment of ₹**,***, comprising ₹**,*** via credit card and ₹**,*** via MakeMyTrip holiday package credits. As part of the package, a Kathakali show was included, which MakeMyTrip(MMT) team failed to provide due to logistical issues. I was informed that a refund would be issued for this service.

However, instead of refunding the amount to the original payment method (credit card), MMT team has issued the refund as a Holiday Package voucher. This is unacceptable and in violation of standard refund practices and applicable consumer protection guidelines, which mandate that refunds be processed back to the original mode of payment.

Further, the voucher:

Has restricted usability (only for MakeMyTrip holiday bookings)
Comes with a limited validity period (June ****)
Effectively forces me to re-spend on your platform only on holiday packages which cost more than Rs **,***/-

This clearly indicates an attempt to retain customer funds under the guise of a refund, which amounts to an unfair trade practice.

Additionally, my experience with MMT customer service has been extremely unsatisfactory, as the representative abruptly disconnected the call when I sought clarification and resolution.
