I was supposed to travel to the USA on the */July/**** to meet my **yr old daughter. I have a US Business visa B*/B*. When I made the booking with the portal makemytrip.com on a call, I was asked what kind of Visa I have and I mentioned the same. I made the booking on the **/Jan/****, way before the Covid-** pandemic hit our country. Once the pandemic was officially declared, the flights were cancelled and I kept following up with MMT about the travel. My flights were booked on the Air India. When the date */July/**** came and went, I was told by MMT that the ticket fare will not be refunded and the ticket will be open till Dec ****. So again in Jan ****, I made the booking for Blr-Del-EWR for **/Jun/**** and then return on the */Aug/****. Again I kept following up with MMT and this time also with AI Bangalore Office for the status of the flights. Once **/Jun/**** came and went, I was told only Students, Medical emergencies and Business Corporate visa holders were being allowed to travel. I was desperate, as I hadnt seen my child and it was her **th Birthday. I tried again and again to travel, I even visited the AI office in Bangalore to request, but they said it wasnt allowed. Since Jan'**, I have been trying to get a refund from MMT or AI. I have again visited the AI office but they said that MMT has to pay. Whenever I call MMT, they say that AI is not refunding the money as flight of */Aug/**** had taken off. My dispute is that if I haven't been allowed to travel out, then how can I be expected to travel back. My visa type and no was verified by MMT during the original booking of ****, so they know what kind of visa I had. I am tired of trying to get back my money for the ticket - Rs. *****/- which according to me should be paid with interest of * years of at least at FD rates. I have attached all the relevant documents -my *st ticket, Invoice of MMT, *nd ticket, my visa copy (which has currently expired) and my passport copy.
Please help me to get my refund.
