I tried purchasing an item from Amazon.in(ORDER # ***-*******-*******) worth Rs. **,*** on Jan **, ****. The payment got debited from my ICICI bank account. The order however got canceled on the portal stating payment did not get credited to Amazon. After contacting the customer service rep at Amazon, they asked me to wait for *-* business days and the payment will get automatically credited since it's a failed transaction. The payment never got credited. After contacting the Customer support again, they asked me to contact the bank since the payment did not get processed and is marked as "hard declined" from Amazon. I wrote my bank ICICI about this issue and they mailed me that the payment was credited to the merchant and I need to contact them. Finally, I reported the matter to RBI (N***************). Later ICICI carried over an internal investigation(after getting notified by RBI) and found out that the payment was indeed made to the merchant and asked me to contact Amazon again. After contacting Amazon customer support with all the RBI screenshots and all other pieces of evidence, they say there is nothing that they can do and the bank needs to resolve the case. I have no other place to go to rather than filing a complain now.
