I had booked a bus ticket using my friend's RedBus account, but provided my phone number as the passenger contact. Unfortunately, the bus was cancelled by the operator, not by me.
Later, I realized the booking was showing under my personal RedBus account instead of my friend’s account, likely because my phone number was linked.
I only discovered the booking in my account after the *-day refund window, and by then the RedBus app showed the refund option as expired/blocked.
Here’s what I did next:
Tried to raise a refund request on the RedBus app → App wouldn’t allow it.
Tried calling RedBus customer care → The IVR system kept looping without connecting me to a human agent.
Sent an email → Got an auto-reply saying RedBus no longer handles complaints over email.
Messaged on Instagram → Got a few replies, but no solution.
Raised the issue on Twitter → Got a DM reply asking for details, which I provided. Still no resolution after *+ days.
Despite contacting RedBus through every available channel, there’s still no action or update from their side.
I am being unfairly denied a refund for something that was not my fault. The cancellation was initiated by the bus operator, and I was locked out of the refund process due to RedBus’s own system issue (account mislinking and failed support channels).
