Sony - Product quality complaint request ID Sony LCD TV KD

This is in reference to my Sony LCD TV KD-**X****E (serial number: *******, Purchase date: **/**/****). This TV has a problem of sporadic shutdown with power led blinking red * times (service request ID: ********).

The technician (Sonu Electronics ; Thane ; Phone No: ***-******** /******** / +************) sent by Sony customer service visited onsite and was immediately able to diagnose/conclude that the mother board needs replacement (repair cost Rs **,***) even without needing to open the TV since this seems to be a very common/widespread problem with these TVs

Upon searching the internet, it indeed seems to be a systemic design problem in the entire TV line. This is very disappointing to have such organic design issues in a product of such a reputed expensive brand like "Sony". For a brand like Sony, the honorable thing would be to recall and fix this problem for all sold units or extend the manufacturer warranty.

I had purchased this TV only recently in **** at a cost of Rs *,**,*** not expecting that it will break down fundamentally in * years for a known design issue and will cost me another Rs **,*** to fix for a systemic problem. It is not expected for a top of the line, expensive TV to fail in less than * years. My family is an old customer of Sony and have several other products like the home theater etc. This experience has really dented my trust for quality and service in the Sony brand.

I believe it is unreasonable and unfair for me to bear this repair cost of Rs **,*** for a manufacturing problem with the TV. I want to request Sony to please help resolve/fix this defective TV as part of their commitment for quality, service and customer satisfaction.
