Porter - Package delivered empty

I sent a hard disk through Porter Courier Services for the first time. Before sending it, we were asked the value of our item. They never said that it is not allowed to send it in courier and took it. Porter outsources Xpressbees to deliver our order. The receiver received empty box and the delivery boy ran away saying I have delivered what I got.
Then we contacted Porter and the reply we got from them was shocking. They said “ Hard disks are electronic items and it is not allowed in courier services as per terms and conditions, therefore we cannot investigate the issue further and the claim has been rejected.”
They should not have accepted it the first place if they can’t compensate us.
