Sir,
I (Kshitiz) work as a senior correspondent in Times of India, Patna (Company name- Bennett, Coleman & Co. Ltd) which has branches in all the states of the country and the job is transferable. I purchased a Royal Enfield Classic-*** bike from Siddhi Vinayak Automobiles located near Saguna More, Danapur-Khagaul Road, Patna, on February **, ****. I paid the entire amount of Rs *, **, *** (Two lakh forty-four thousand and seventeen) which included the ex-showroom price, insurance, registration, extended warranty and road assistance service at the time of purchase.
Prior to the purchase, I had requested for a BH series registration number which the dealer had assured me to provide. They had asked for an additional Rs **** to pay an agent for the BH series number which I denied as I was completely eligible for the facility. Then they told me to provide a photocopy of my Id card and email id of the authorised signatory in my company. I provided both. The dealer then assured me that I will get my RC in just a week. They had not asked for any other document till then. I made frequent requests for the RC from the dealer but it was not provided. After two months, the agent of the dealer asked to submit Form- **. I then submitted it. After that also, I didn't get my RC and the dealer then told me that I have to pay a fine for late registration which was not told before or I was aware of.
I then visited the Patna DTO office on June **. Patna DTO revealed that the dealer has not applied for my BH series registration till date. He told me to submit a written application against the agency which I submitted on June **.
I have requested multiple times to the dealer to provide my registration number, but till date there is no progress. I am unable to ride my bike without a number plate, even after a duration of four months. There are continuous checking drives going on at many check-posts in the city on a daily basis and riding a bike without a RC is liable to a heavy fine.
I am mentally harassed over the behavior of the bike dealer. They are intentionally harassing me as I didn't pay Rs *, *** to the dealer's agent for the BH series RC. So I request you for an appropriate action in the matter and help me get my registration done as soon as possible. I am enclosing all the supported documents related to the issue.
