Complaint against TATA Play for refund of Money paid upon cancellation within ** days of connection
I wish to register the following complaint against TATA Play and seek full refund of money paid.
Complaint in detail:
*. On March **, **** I made an order for TATA Play “Direct To Home” (DTH) Connection at my residence and made a payment of Rs. ****/- towards the cost of installation. Copy of Online payment receipt attached.
*. On March **, **** the technician from TATA Play arrived at my residence and installed the dish, LNB. Set Top Box (STB) and Remote. The technician made the installation without the required cable since I have already laid the cable concealed in the walls. The connection was activated while the technician was present at my residence for installation. Before the technician left my residence, I complained to him that the channel changing is very cumbersome as we have to press too many buttons before we can change any channel and this becomes even more difficult if not frustrating when we have to change channels frequently. The technician said he will relay this information to the people at back office and they will look into the matter.
*. On March **, **** I also paid Rs. ***/- towards monthly subscription as demanded by TATA Play to avail continued service.
*. After several complaints by phone to their toll-free number (***********) and speaking to number of customer service agents and as no solution was provided to my problem I registered complaint in writing by email *n **.**.****. Subsequent to this I sent several emails asking for TATA Play help to resolve the complaint and provide me with a solution.
*. In the course of several telephonic conversations one of the customer service agent – a lady – mentioned that providing a easy use of remote for changing channels would mean “down grading the service” and this she is not authorised to do. Hence I demanded that if such a solution can be made then please connect to me to the authority who can take such decision but without success.
*. Since then, I sent several emails on daily basis to draw the attention of the “authorized person”
*. I even requested TATA Play to depute a competent person to my residence to investigate the problem faced by spending a day with us by changing channels and if their competent person does not get frustrated then I was prepared to live with the problem. But TATA Play did not accept this proposal.
*. On **.**.**** I received an email from their CEO without making any commitment to resolve the problem neither providing any solution to the issue.
*. After making several consistent attempts and since I could not see any effort by TATA Play to resolve the problem, on **.**.**** I sent an email to cancel the connection and demanded full refund of money paid as I could not use connection for watching the channels. Also, I demanded them to remove and take back the faulty equipment.
**. As I do not get any response from TATA play I wish to register this complaint and seek refund of amount paid Rs. **** + Rs. *** = Rs. ****/- (Rupees Two Thousand Nine Hundred Fourteen Only)
Request all to use their good offices in proper cancellation of my connection and help me obtain my refund amount as mentioned above.
