**Complaint against Emirates and EaseMyTrip**
I am an international student who booked a flight from Hyderabad, India, to Birmingham, UK, through EaseMyTrip. Initially,there's no option available for a student fare in ease my trip app for international bookings, so I mistakenly booked a Saver ticket thinking as a student fare, which included **kg of baggage for adults. Upon realizing, I contacted Emirates, who assured me that I could reissue the ticket to a student fare with no additional charge and an extra baggage allowance of **kg (**kg in total). Despite losing the student fare discount (*,***INR as **% student discount), I did not complain or request the difference. My only concern was the baggage allowance.
However, EaseMyTrip failed to resolve this issue in a timely manner, taking over one and a half weeks and till now reissuing the ticket yet I had completed my journey. They claimed that Emirates was not responding to their inquiries, which reflects poorly on Emirates' customer service.
When I arrived at the airport, the Emirates staff at the check-in counter refused to allow me to carry both my cabin bag and laptop bag, insisting I pay for the cabin baggage as check-in excess (*kg - **,*** INR). They even included my laptop in the total weight, which I found unfair. Despite being an international student with valid student identification and confirmation from Emirates regarding my **kg baggage allowance, I was treated unfairly and had to pay for the extra baggage (**,*** INR) The Emirates staff was rude and dismissive, insulting me by claiming "I had booked a cheap ticket and was taking advantage of the airline".
To make matters worse, my flight from Hyderabad to Dubai was delayed by an hour, causing me to miss my connecting flight to Birmingham. While I was provided with a hotel voucher, I had to check out early (within *.* hours) and board a later flight, leaving me sleep-deprived and exhausted. The flight from Dubai to Birmingham also lacked proper air conditioning, making the journey uncomfortable and suffocating.
This entire experience has been deeply stressful, both mentally and financially. As an international student, I expect fair treatment and adherence to the agreements made regarding baggage allowances. Instead, I was treated poorly, overcharged, and insulted by the Emirates staff at Rajiv Gandhi international airport - Hyderabad.
I request a Partial refund for my ticket (**,*** INR) and the extra baggage charges (**,*** INR), or compensation in the form of a free student fare for a future trip.
Emirates' reckless behavior and EaseMyTrip's failure to rectify the situation have caused me significant distress, and I believe I am entitled to compensation for the poor service and mistreatment I endured as I'm aware that I wasn't even asking more than that I suffered this entire time, I believe.
