I was travelling to Shimla from New Delhi and booked Oyo ***** Cedar Tree in Shimla on **th April **** and made full payment as requested by the app cause advance payment was to be made prior to booking. I was accompanied by a friend of mine. When I reached the property the owner told us this hotel is not been serviced by Oyo and we cannot let you check in. I showed them my payment slip but the hotel talks to me and my friend who was a girl rudely and told us to leave. Then I called up Oyo customer care at around * in the evening and told them about the problem that I faced then they told me that their guest experience manager will call us back in few minutes but hours passed and there was no call from the Oyo end. Then I called up their customer care again and then they told me the same thing that the guest experience manager will call us soon. Then to hours passed and no call. It was about * pm and we were roofless in an unknown city. Then I called Oyo customer care again and they told me to hold up the line and they will connect my call directly to the customer care executive and the call was put on hold for about half an hour and I waited so that I could talk to the senior but after half an hour the call disconnects. Again the same thing got repeated * times. Then a moment came when Oyo customer care was not reachable. Then seeing no help coming from Oyo I booked another hotel with name Oyo **** hotel Rashik and made full payment and when I reached the hotel they to denied me to check in saying their rooms are full and they cannot accommodate us. I again showed them the payment slip but in vain they asked us to leave. Till then my ₹**** was with Oyo Hotels and till we haven’t got any room to stay. There was no help from customer care. They automatically disconnect their call after some time. We brought a limited amount of money as we are just students and half of our budget was trapped with Oyo. Seeing no help from Oyo and a female friend with me I booked a non-Oyo hotel at about the price double we paid for the booking I paid **** for a night stay because we don’t have any other options so all of my budgets were gone and we were left with nothing and visiting Shimla got wasted. Then I got a call from Oyo enquiring about my situation and I told them everything and they told me to book a non-Oyo hotel tomorrow as they unable to accommodate us in the any of the nearby Oyo hotels and they said they will return up to ₹**** if the hotel was priced at ₹**** so the price that would be of an Oyo Hotel (₹****).
I readily agreed I booked hotel meridian of ₹**** by borrowing money from my friend. Then when I check out I shared the GST Receipt as demanded by the Oyo executive via phone. I also got a mail from Reman Rai from Oyo that to share the non-Oyo booking GST bill so that they can initiate the booking. But since it has been now month I have not got my money back and regularly messages Oyo but they don’t care to give the same reply every time. Please, I request you to refund my ₹**** as I have given it back to the friend I borrowed. That Shimla cost us a lot and all the fun was just destroyed as our budget has gone up. I didn't carry the money. It was just a disaster from Oyo. You don’t know how we faced that night rejected by Oyo hotel every time. Enclosed is the mail that I got.
