Makemytrip.com - Extortion under the name of cab booking

Did a cab booking last week for my parents to catch an international flight. (** and ** year old senior citizens).

Cab booking was confirmed and paid online which said it included all taxes, tolls etc to go from source to destination. Parents Recieve a call from Makemytrip just * hours before the journey to make an additional payment of almost * times the initial cab booking amount or threatned to cancel the booking. When asked about why such a huge additional amount, they said its additional interstate taxes.

Wanted to extort close to Rs ***** in total for a short *** km trip to airport for just * passengers.

Caused an extreme amount of emotional trauma and last minute hassle for my old parents to arrange for alternative cab. I Confronted Makemytrip over call and they were extremely unprofessional trying to give all kinds of excuses. Although they refunded the full amount, my parents had to book a last minute local cab paying an additional Rs **** over what was initially booked plus a lot of stress they had to go through doing at such a short notice.

Pathetic customer service from Makemytrip and a bunch of scammers and extortionists.
