I am writing to formally lodge a complaint against Housing.com for highly unethical, deceptive, and misleading business practices that directly violate the trust placed in their advertised 'Money Back Plan'. My complaint specifically highlights their use of fake calls to gather information and subsequently deny a legitimate refund based on false pretenses.
Details of the Complaint:
* Purchase of 'Money Back Plan' and its Promise:
On February **, ****, I purchased a 'Money Back Plan' from Housing.com for ₹**,***/- (Rupees Fifteen Thousand Only). The fundamental promise of this plan, as explicitly advertised and communicated by Housing.com, was a full refund of the amount if my flat was not sold within *** days from the date of plan activation.
* Housing.com's Deceptive Practice: Fake Calls Impersonating Genuine Buyers:
During the tenure of the 'Money Back Plan', Housing.com engaged in a highly unethical practice. They initiated fake calls, impersonating genuine buyers, with the sole intent of ascertaining whether my flat had been sold or not. This deceptive tactic was employed to gather information under false pretenses, rather than to facilitate a genuine sale.
* Failure to Refund and Baseless Denial:
Upon the completion of the ***-day tenure on July *, ****, my flat remained unsold and continues to be under my ownership. Despite this clear fulfillment of the refund condition, Housing.com has refused to honor their commitment. Their refusal is based on the false claim that their 'sources' indicate the flat has been sold – a claim directly linked to their deceptive fake calls. This constitutes a clear breach of their advertised 'Money Back Plan' terms.
* Refusal to Acknowledge Proof of Ownership and Non-Sale:
I have repeatedly offered to provide Housing.com with irrefutable documentation to validate my continued ownership of the flat. I also requested them to conduct a physical visit to my flat and to verify the ownership status with my society committee. Despite these earnest attempts to cooperate and provide legitimate proofs, Housing.com has consistently refused to acknowledge my evidence and has arbitrarily rejected my refund request, relying on their falsely obtained information.
* Lack of Genuine Leads:
Furthermore, throughout the entire four-month period of the plan, Housing.com failed to provide even a single genuine lead for the sale of my flat. All communications and 'leads' provided by my relationship manager, copies of which are attached as Annexure A, were not genuine and did not result in any meaningful progress towards a sale. This demonstrates a clear deficiency in the service promised and advertised.
* Mental Harassment:
The refusal to honor their commitment, coupled with their baseless and deceptive claims derived from fake calls, and complete disregard for my legitimate proofs, has caused me immense mental agony, stress, and harassment. I have spent considerable time and effort trying to resolve this matter, only to be met with uncooperative, unfair, and dishonest responses from Housing.com.
