I had send email complaint to UBER india (Grievanceoffice_india@uber.com), which bounced back. I now dont know where to send the complaint. Uber does not display any email ID anywhere. However the contents of the email are as follows:
I had booked an Uber this evening (**.**.**) from Ahmedabad Airport to my residence at Bopal area.
*. After I booked the car, I had called the driver immediately and he asked that if I had come out of Airport, and requested me to wait at a specific point near the pickup area. He also asked me which area I wanted to go. This question was an odd one which was never asked to me by cab driver earlier. Then after a minute he called me back to shift further towards the end of the passage, which was pretty odd. Usually nobody waits at the far end of the passage ( and why should anybody wait so far when the car can come directly to the pickup point).
*. I was waiting for him, when I received another call from him to Identify myself, as he did not bring the car, but came walking to receive me. I couldn't understand what exactly was happening, as it was going quite fishy and unusual. Then he asked me to pickup my bags and follow him to the parking area where the car was parked. (There was no passage where I could pull me bags on the wheels and I had to pick my heavy bag and follow him). He continuously was blabbering that he had been conned by some other customer by not picking up the ride, and he has to pay the parking charges. ???
*. However after the ride started, he again started questioning me that the area I was going did not fall under Bopal, and I should have told him earlier. I did not understand why he was blaming on me for wrong information, when my Residence postal address itself says: (deleted)
*. But the last straw was when we finally entered the new connector road (Karnawati club road) to my house from the Ring road. There are no street lights on that road as it's a very new road, and the street lights are yet to be installed. When he did not switch on the headlights, I reminded him to switch them on. Then he informed me that the wire of the headlight was cut, and he will manage with the light coming out of the hazard lights. He told me that that was the reason if him asking me the drop point address. I really could not understand how he would do it. He was going at a very slow speed and further slowing at points where he would not understand the road. He was constantly asking me and confirming with me if the road really existed there. Then he started asking me how far the drop off point was still away. And he also started seeking the help of the navigation map. I could barely see anything in front but he blindly was asking me and going forward. That area on the newly built road is still uninhabited, and was the most scariest and horrifying ride I ever had in my life, with the fear that the car would hit something, or fall in some pit.
Finally when my Residence approach read arrived which was lighted well, I could breath with relief.
Oh my God, such a nut driver should be banned from driving further and his licence cancelled. A person with a weak heart will have a heart attack in such a horrifieng situation.
I hope Uber takes strict action in such a case so that this situation never occurs with anybody else.
I don't know if I'll be able to even sleep this night with the haunting memory of the deadly experience.
