Uber Cabs - Scammed by the driver Got charged cancellation fee

Dear sir,

This is regarding my cancelled trip on *th Feb early morning.

Kindly note, i had pre booked the trip the previous day as I had a flight to catch(the trip was from my hotel to airport) . I was supposed to leave for airport at *:** AM.

I checked the location of the driver at *:** , he was still **.* kms away from pickup (estimated ETA was *:** am) , following which, i decided to wait for him. However, I got the the real shocker at *:** AM when i checked his location again and saw that he was still **.* kms away at the same location as he was not driving at all (probably sleeping) ,and the ETA had become *:** AM. At that time, I tried to called him * times to ask where he is but he didn't answer my calls. I understood that he doesn't intended to pick me up at all. He just wanted to get the benefit of the cancellation charges for free.

I had no choice other than to cancel the ride and arrange other conveyance as I would surely miss my flight had I waited any longer and I think it's highly unfair to charge cancellation fees when it's not even my fault.

Can u answer my following questions:

*. What is the point of pre booking a ride if it doesn't come on time?

*. Why should I pay the driver if he was sitting like a duck in the same place without any intention to pick me up ?

*. How do you make sure that the driver is not actually scamming customers to get the benefit of the cancellation charges by intentionally accepting the ride and sitting in the same place until the customer is forced to cancel?

Hoping for a quick reversal.
