I placed an order via Swiggy for a large quantity of chilli garlic chicken from The Cascade restaurant on May **th. However, upon delivery, I received a medium quantity instead. This discrepancy is evident from the bill provided by the restaurant alongside the order. Despite bringing this issue to Swiggy's attention, they refused to issue a refund and shifted the blame onto the restaurant, stating that it's the restaurant's responsibility, not theirs.
This restaurant is one we frequently dine, and we've noticed that for the same price, we usually receive a larger quantity when dining in. It appears that under the guise of a "medium" quantity, the restaurant is providing a smaller portion for Swiggy orders.
Considering the already inflated prices of food, coupled with Swiggy's delivery charges and the reduced quantity, this feels like blatant exploitation by both the restaurant and Swiggy. If Swiggy has a contractual agreement with a restaurant or a pick-up and delivery partner, it is their obligation to ensure that the service is carried out correctly and that customers receive what they pay for.
