Dear Sir/Ma'am ,
I hope this email finds you well. I am writing to bring to your attention a distressing situation my wife and I have recently encountered with an airline company regarding a cancelled flight and subsequent denial of a refund.
My wife and I had booked a flight with Japan Airlines to travel to Japan on **th March and return on **st March. Unfortunately, my wife suffered a miscarriage in January, which naturally led to the cancellation of our trip.
Understanding the gravity of the situation, we immediately contacted Japan Airlines to inquire about the possibility of a refund, as my wife's medical emergency falls under the category of sickness, for which the airline assured us a refund would be provided. We submitted our Doctor's note and prescription to which they replied that they need a Government doctor's verification and stamp. In accordance with their requirements, we obtained a government doctor's stamp validating the authenticity of the medical emergency.
However, despite following all necessary procedures and providing the required documentation, we were shocked to receive a denial of our refund request from Japan Airlines. This denial came as a significant blow to us during an already emotionally challenging time.
We firmly believe that we are entitled to a refund under the circumstances outlined by the airline's policy. It is deeply disappointing and distressing to be denied what we were assured would be granted in the event of such an unfortunate occurrence.
Given the circumstances and the clear communication from the airline regarding their refund policy in cases of sickness, we kindly request your intervention in this matter. We seek your assistance in ensuring that Japan Airlines upholds their commitment to their customers and honors their word, especially in situations as sensitive and difficult as the one we have experienced.
Attached to this email, you will find copies of all relevant documentation, including our booking details, medical certificate, and correspondence with the airline.
We would be immensely grateful for any assistance you can provide in resolving this matter promptly.
