Makemytrip - Refund for Hotel Cancellation

I did a last minute planning to travel to Pondicherry with my family and wanted to book beach resort. I searched beach resort on makemytrip website and did the booking one night before travel. I booked the resort for two nights stay, two rooms and after few hours my family did google reviews of that particular resort (Ganesh Residency, Pondicherry Booking ID - NH*************),on google and shocked to know that this is not even a resort or hotel but a guest house/ lodge.

The review comments on google were confirming that this is a lodge, not safe for family stay, it's at isolated place, not a beach resort but a lodge, staff and cook are found drunk..with all such reviews i got worried as females were traveling with me to stay in this lodge. I called MMT customer care and they were not showing any empathy for the security concerns i was worried about rather they were worried about their cancellation penalty etc. for me my family security was most important priority and since it was not safe place to stay and not a resort rather a lodge/ guest house, I decided to cancelled my trip and hotel booking which was Rs *****.

This is a case of cheating as makemytrip is showing wrong and misleading information on the website displaying this Ganesh Residency as beach resort category which is actually as lodge or guest house. They are suppsoed to verify all the details before displaying on your website. On other travel websites like trivago they are showing it as guest house which is correct category.

I called MMT customer care and raised two tickets which were closed by them without providing any resolution. They suggested that whatever details hotel staff will ask them to put on their website, they just put it and don't verify it whether its correct information or category of the hotel or whether it qualify for resort or lodge.
