I booked a flight for * passengers on via.com on ** Dec **** at about *am to travel from Imphal to Bangkok.The ticket cost that was offered was ******.** Rs in total which was approximately ***** Rs per person for * passengers to fly out on ** Dec **** and to return on ** Jan ****. I also booked another flight for the same dates for another passenger on makemytrip for ***** Rs at almost the same time and the flight was confirmed immediately. The reason why I booked with via.com was just because of the cashback offer its giving online. However after booking the flight my card was charged instantly, but I did not receive any confirmation for about ** minutes and I kept on waiting. Since I got quite suspicious as I did not receive the tickets I started checking their reviews online and every reviews says that it does scam their customers and usually ask customers to pay more after booking the flight. I was really worried and I was just crossing my fingers hoping that it doesn't happen in my case. However after about * hours I received an email stating that the flight is not confirmed and that I had to pay ***** Rs as a fare difference to confirm the flight. There was no fare difference at all at that time as I was checking with other travel websites too like yatra,makemytrip and also the airlines site. Also if there had been any fare difference it could have been approximately about ***-*** Rs per person and for * passengers it could have been **** Rs and thats it. But there was no difference in the fare at all as I was getting the same fare even on the other websites after the flights were booked.I am also attaching the fare as of today and as the fare goes higher by today the fare today has reached *****Rs or more Per passenger, but still the fare difference is just about *****Rs even on todays date. But this website was trying to charge me ***** Rs fare difference just to confirm the flight and as per them the flights won't be confirmed if I didn't pay the fare difference of *****Rs. So I told them to cancel as they were trying to rip me off. I was booking the flight for some senior people including me as I am taking them to attend the spiritual classes under World Light Foundation in Bangkok. The seniors are contributing every penny to book this flight as this is their lifetime travel and they may not be able to travel again. I have already booked for * passengers before as we are ** people travelling altogether.But this company said that refund would take about **-** days when we are supposed to travel on **Dec and I have to book the tickets too for the passengers. We have already made all the arrangements by spending about * lakhs for the stay and the food and everything as we are a group of ** people travelling to Bangkok to attend the spiritual classes. But we are not able to book another set of tickets unless and until they refund now. When I called them up and spoke to a manager , I was told that refund is generally done in **-** hrs even though they advise **-** days. I was told that this is my bank's policy and I was told to contact my bank. However my bank said this has nothing to do with them as they would not see any money unless they put the money back to my account. The tickets are getting more and more expensive day by day now and If we do not book these tickets at the earliest we may not be able to afford to book another set of tickets and go to Bangkok. And in return we are going to lose this opportunity to attend these spiritual classes and all the money that we have spent to make these arrangements. Also since they haven't refunded the money, we are still not able to book another set of tickets for * passengers now and if these * passengers are not going then nobody would be going. Via.com is entirely responsible for this as they should not have let me book the flight if the flights or fare wasn't available. Infact they charged my card instantly and now they are telling me to wait for **-** days to get my money back which doesn't make any sense. If they want they can refund the money at the earliest in ** - ** hrs and shouldn't take **-** days. One of the senior passenger who is a heart patient was about to have a heart attack when he got to know about this. i have already emailed via.com explaining everything and told them to rebook the flight or refund and also told them that I am doing an FiR if I do not receive my money back in ** hrs. Its been * days now and I still have not received my money back. But they did not even try to help except sent me emails stating that the flight has been cancelled and refund would take about **-** days.They should either honour the price that was given on the site as the fare was available and rebook or compensate now as the fare has gone up quite higher or refund immediately so that we can book the tickets again. I am waiting .I will send all the attachments and proofs. They should compensate.
