I am writing to formally file a complaint regarding a food order I received on **rd November **** from Taco Bell via Zomato. I am a strict vegetarian due to my cultural and religious beliefs, and I ordered two vegetarian tacos, one vegetarian burrito, and a side of vegetarian fries. However, upon receiving my order, I was shocked to find that the food delivered was not in accordance with my specifications.
The box I received was labeled as "Naked Chicken Taco," which is clearly a non-vegetarian item. As a regular consumer of Taco Bell, I am well aware that vegetarian items are typically packed in a green box. I immediately brought this issue to the attention of the delivery executive, but he was unable to offer any resolution. This error not only violated my dietary restrictions but also caused significant distress, as I adhere to strict vegetarian practices due to my cultural and religious beliefs. During this time, our family was also hosting a cultural ceremony (Pooja) with five Hindu pandits present, making this incident particularly offensive and disruptive.
Given the nature of the incident, I believe it is crucial for Taco Bell and Zomato to be held accountable for this mistake, as it involves both cultural insensitivity and a violation of food safety standards. I request that FSSAI take the following actions:
Investigation into the mislabeling of food products by Taco Bell and Zomato.
Penalties or corrective measures for violating food labeling regulations and failing to ensure the accuracy of orders.
Compensation for the emotional distress, inconvenience, and cultural offense caused by this incident.
Assurance that Taco Bell and Zomato will implement stricter quality control to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.
As evidence, I am attaching a screenshot of the invoice and the items I actually received to support my claim. The order number is **********, and the receipt clearly shows the discrepancy between the vegetarian items I ordered and the non-vegetarian item I received.
I sincerely hope that FSSAI will take swift action on this matter to ensure that such incidents are addressed promptly and that food safety regulations are upheld.
