- Loss of Baggage and Forceful Unauthorised Billing Open
I have been an Ola customer for a long time. My registered phone number with Ola is ********** and the registered email is firstname.lastname@example.org.
During my last trip to Delhi, on **th August **** (Sunday), I booked an Ola rental for the four-hour package (CRN **********) to move around the city and finally land at Airport. The cab with the driver Dhirendra Kumar Sharma picked me up at JNU Aravalli Guest House at **:** PM. I asked him to take me to my house at Ayanagar as I had some work there.
We reached Ayanagar at around ** noon. I got off the cab, (my luggage being in the cab itself) and asked the driver to wait for an hour and park the cab nearby until I finish off my work and get back to him.
I went to my house and was in the house for around one hour. I came out at *:** PM and looked for the driver. He was nowhere around. I looked for him in the other streets of the area but he was nowhere. I called him on his phone number provided by the Ola App i.e. +**-********** and his personal phone number **********. His phone kept ringing but he did not pick up the call. I tried for around ** minutes to reach him but I could not reach him.
As I had a flight to catch at IGI Airport (where I had to reach four hours prior to departure as per the Independence Day notifications of the Government of India), I called the Ola Support at *********** and informed and asked them to help me out.
Then I called the Ola Support team. After spending about half an hour in connecting with them, the Ola Support told me that the driver is really not reachable and that they will be taking action against the driver. The Ola Support also advised me that I can book a new ride for the airport and efforts will be made to deliver my luggage later on.
So, I booked another ride and came to the Airport. The driver of the previous ride called me at around *:** PM and told me that he has come to the airport and asked me to make the payment and collect the luggage. As I had already done my security check-in, I could not come out and told him the same and asked him to deposit the luggage with the Ola Management team. However, he was not able to understand what I was telling him and he frequently called me to extent of being a nuisance for me. Thereafter, I blocked his phone number. He called me a few times afterward as well from the Ola provided number.
Ola has now shown a pending payment against my account to the extent of Rs. **** which also includes the fares of the driver traveling without me and without my instructions for no fault of mine.
The driver raised a request of less payment through the Ola App which was later resolved by the Ola Team exonerating me of any pending payment. (please see the Ola mail copy attached).
- Ola has not returned me my luggage that contains my goods (primarily my travel clothes) worth Rs. **,***/-. I have provided ola addresses of two places in Delhi where the luggage can be dropped or the luggage can be delivered to me in Mysore where I have been residing.
- Ola is wrongly charging asking me to pay an amount of Rs. **** for a trip that was abandoned in between by the driver. If my luggage is delivered back to me in good condition, I can pay for the ride from JNU to Ayanagar during which I did travel with the driver.
- I seek compensation for the mental harassment I had to go through because of this issue not being resolved in time and for the time that I had to spend on resolving this issue. Please note that I am fairly high ranking government officer and the time I had to spend on resolving this issue should be compensated on an hourly basis with each hour being Rs. ****/-.
- Any expenses in handling this case with the consumer may be refunded to me.
