- Ill treatment by Indigo Ground Staff at Ahmadabad Open
I am a wheel-chair bound senior citizen with multiple health issues. I carry a number of medications with me for my use during and after the flight. I also carry valuables such as a laptop and a camera.
IndiGo always gets after passengers not to carry a bag into the cabin, even if it is of a permissible size and weight. Multiple people come and ask you the same thing, tiring you out. It borders on harassment.
I have once handed over my bag. I did not find it on arrival in Bangalore. It had been exchanged with someone else. I had to travel ** km within Bangalore to retrieve my bag. I have documentary evidence of this.
Here are the particulars of my last trip.
Two different staffers asked me to check in my cabin bag. They agreed to let me take it once I explained the situation to them.
Then, along comes Bhargav, the staff supervisor. After the treatment I received at the hands of Bhargav, I have decided never to fly with IndiGo if I can help it.
He appears to be a sadistic person who loves ill-treating people on wheel-chairs. I was willing to pay IndiGo whatever charges they wanted to levy but he just would not listen. He kept arguing. I offered to put any extra weight in my check-in bag and pay excess baggage but he would not listen. Finally, I asked someone to give me a box. I emptied some of my valuables into it. He weighed it, charged me excess baggage and let me go.
I could not sleep that night. I had to take a Sorbitrate on the flight and one more at night.
Airlines can and do charge what they want but they need not torture passengers, particularly wheel-chair based senior citizens.
What Bhargav extracted from me is blood money. The money I was willing to pay. But, he tortured me to extract it.
What I am seeking is damages for mental torture and harassment.
