I had made a hotel booking for my stay in Dubai for the period Jan *,**** to Jan *,****. The booking was done on MakeMyTrip on November *th, ****. We had also booked air tickets through MakeMyTrip (MMT) for travel from Chennai to Dubai via Columbo through Srilankan Airlines. We have also paid the amount in full and the tickets were also confirmed. However, now the said Srilankan Airlines informed that passenger is not allowed to travel as MAA Airport is denying Rapid PCR test since airlines are operating under Air bubble agreement (As covid spread was on peak during December ****). Attached email conversation for same. Since I was not allowed to travel as Chennai Airport was denying PCR test for all passengers traveling to Dubai via Colombo, I was not able to go to Dubai. So I claimed for the refund of the flight tickets and hotel booking. I received the flight ticket refund but the Hotel Booking refund is still not received. MakeMyTrip also claimed that "Hotel has also confirmed us that if flight gets cancelled at last mint due to covid, they will treat that scenario as an exception" - Attached email proof for same and highlighted in yellow. I have been chasing them for the past * months and they haven't refunded the money. As a consumer, I would want MakeMyTrip to refund my hotel booking money as I have valid reason and proofs from my end. I feel this is total injustice to me as a consumer. Also, due to this issue, MakeMyTrip has also caused me emotional distress by making me chase behind my money for months. I would also want MakeMyTrip to compensate for the emotional distress they gave me. Please do the needful.
