Discrimination by Indigo airlines Open

Myself and my family were traveling on Indigo Airlines flight ( 6E-631 ) from Bhubaneswar to Hyderabad on 31st December. The flight was cancelled and we informed 90 minutes before departure time. We went to the indigo counter for alternate flight but were told to make our own arrangements. We had emergency appointments at Hyderabad for our parents medical issue hence were helpless and had to book Air Asia flight to Hyderabad.
After we boarded Air Asia flight we noticed some of Indigo passengers (of cancelled flight, who were in parallel queue), they mentioned that Indigo had provided Air Asia Flight ticket as alternative for Indigo Cancelled Flight, for no additional charge. (I have those passenger details).
This is blatant discrimination by Indigo Airlines towards passengers. Despite having a 5years child travelling with us and emergency appointments for us Indigo failed to respond to our requests. We have written several emails to Indigo customer service on this issue, however they have not offered any concrete response and have now redirected us to contact the nodal authority
Firstly flight was cancelled at last minute by Indigo, causing immense tension. Secondly this kind of harassment and discrimination between passengers. Request your kind help to understand why were we discriminated by the indigo airlines and what is the process when a flight is cancelled just before departure.
