Hi,
Last year I decide to go Varanasi and I thought it would be good if I booked ticked few months ago. So I booked ticket on November ****. I used to travel on February ****. I live in Chandigarh. Everytime I book ticket from "Make My Trip". But this time I found this site and they offer some good deals. So I booked ticket from Happy Fares. They booked my ticket of Air India flight from "Chandigarh to Delhi" and IndiGo flight from "Delhi to Varanasi".
I reached at Airport on Time and there was no one in the counter. After sometime a person came to counter and then I show him my tickets and he said Air India flight is Cancelled. This is first time happened to me and I don't know how to react. He said you will get full refund and give me a official Air India Paper on which it is mention that I will get full refund.
Then, I booked another flight(Indigo) which is ready to depart after couple of hours . This way I complete my Journey to Varanasi. Thanks to Indigo.
Now I came back to my home and contact to "HAPPY FARES". First few days they said it will take time and refund will credit to you account. Then its more than ** days. I called them again. and this time one of their customer support said. Sir you didn't reach the airport and that's why you flight miss and you didn't get refund. Then after few days I start mailing them and tell them my issue but didn't get reply first. Again I sent emails describing my whole issue. Meanwhile, I also contact to Air India through email and I got email from their side and they said. You booked ticked from third party and you have to contact them.
I explain all this issue to "Happy Fares" customer support. Then they said sir we have mailed your issue to Air India and this is some reference number, when we get refund from Air India. we let you know.
I am waiting for my refund its ** May ****.
I can understand, this is INDIA and such fraud can happen here.
Few Tips for travelers
*) Always book ticket directly from Airlines sites
*) Don't travel or book Air India. Indigo is best
*) Never book ticket from small vendor or third party agents like HAPPY FARES. Its better to choose Make My Trip for booking.
