Makemytrip (india) Pvt. Ltd. - attempt at cancellation failed and response to complaint given more than 24 hrs following the compla

i had booked a hotel through makemytrip on **th of may around * or * pm for a stay between **th may ** pm to **th may ** pm. i was in a rush to book because i had to catch a train. so i made the mistake of booking a hotel that was not so close to either the drop off point neither the location i had to visit. so immediately after booking i consulted with a friend of mine and he advised me to cancel. As it turns out the event was postponed. so i had tried to contact makemytrip and filed a attempt for cancellation and it gave me a message saying my request was under processing then the next day i received a call after *pm saying that no compensation will be given it was in the policy form they had sent and that it was too late. i understand that i should not get a full refund maybe not even half but at least some compensation and a quicker response should have been made. on too of this after that call i had received some ** or so messages in whatsapp and texts giving details of the hotel that i had cancelled. i am upset with makemytrip hopefully in the future they will seek to improve their service and response.
