Suddhatma Mukherjee filed complaint against Ktm bike on Oct 24, 2020
Dear all,
I own a Ktm Duke *** motorcycle since August **** and have maintained , service and replaced necessary spares at regular intervals.
In February ****, my motorcycle developed a fueling system issue for which i was advised by the concerned service center to replace the throttle body unit and fuel injection system on my vehicle .
However, before i can manage to a paid replacement - a nationwide lockdown due to the Covid ** pandemic was declared hence was not able to submit vehicle till October , ****.
On **th October **** , i submitted by vehicle for the required replacement plus a paid thorough service job and a jobcard was issued to me which was to deliver the replacement and my motorcycle by **th October ****.
However, the next day i was called up and told that the required part was not available at the service center and i have wait longer than has been agreed upon, for the delivery of the vehicle. Since the replacement was necessary , i had to agree for the late delivery.
On **th October ****, i made a visit to the service center to check on how the work was going on about my motorcycle , since the delivery time was indefinite .
But to much disappointment , service personnel reported to me that the crankcase chamber of my bike got damaged during engine oil change and the entire unit had to be replaced since the company has updated their spares and new partial replacement was not an option . They also implied that i have to pay for this damage too even though the bike was in the custody of the service center.
They quoted me an additional rs**,*** to be paid for the replacement of the damaged crankcase.
I was shocked as to how a vehicle submitted for fueling unit replacement became a crankcase replacement issue too.
I filed a grievance with the established company procedure to address my issue and the need to escalate , however i received a call from the same service center executive who implied on the fact that i and my insurance is to pay for the damage incurred at the service center and that he had contacted the superior but to no avail.
Till date i have received no communication or a resolution regarding my vehicle which the authorised service center is still holding from any higher ups of the company .
I m new to this forum, and might have issues attaching required evidence , like job card number and complaint number for this issue , pls guide me accordingly.
I would be grateful for any and all the help.
