I have made an airticket return reservation for an International journey where I just have a Given Name on my passport and the surname field remains blank/empty. I communicated with cleartrip regarding the same but there was no reply so I proceeded with the reservation by entering my first name and then the last name.
Following this, I have been raising this issue with cleartrip but they are saying I have to cancel the whole booking and make a fresh booking. I consulted with the airline and they said it is definitely possible but it can only be done via the agent. The airline will charge a ** Canadian Dollar penalty but a reply from cleartrip states - "From cleartrip's end, Cleartrip charges Rs.*** per sector & Convenience fees Rs. *** charges will be deducted & the remaining amount will be refunded"
I do not understand whether this is a money minting process or just another way of harassing customers?
Please note I am not changing my name on the ticket, it is just a name correction where LNU will be entered in the last name field.
I am so tired of following up with them. Kindly assist
