I am writing regarding my recent hotel booking made through the Smartbuy website. The payment has been completed, and the bookings were confirmed for * rooms on * separate bookings. Despite, after a couple of days I got a call from makemytrip that the booking was made at a low price and it could not be honoured.
The * bookings are: NH************** and NH**************.
In fact MMT went ahead and cancelled one of the bookings (NH**************) despite my protestations and money has been refunded, whereas the *nd booking still stands.
It would be highly concerning if a company of MakeMyTrip’s stature were to cancel a confirmed booking after payment. Such an action would not only cause me significant inconvenience but could also raise questions about the company’s reliability in honoring its commitments.
While MMT maintains that this booking was created because of a technical glitch, it was none of my fault. Also, this dispute may not have a large financial impact on your organization, given MakeMyTrip’s presence as a NASDAQ-listed company.
If this booking is cancelled despite the confirmation and payment, I will have no choice but to escalate the matter through the appropriate channels within MakeMyTrip and consider further actions, including approaching consumer forums in both India and the USA.
I kindly request your immediate attention to resolve this issue and ensure that the booking is honored.
