I recently made a international hotel booking for Phuket, Thailand for which I used my MMT Black account. Being a black member I use MMT for all my travel bookings which accounted for more than * Lakhs last year (which is the highest milestone as per Black program). While I made the booking from my MMT Black account I was charged Rs. *****, I also immediately checked the price being showed in friends account which amounted to be Rs. *****. I was shocked to see that I am being overcharged being a MMT member for so long. After this, I checked for many hotels that I have booked in the past and I was surprised to find the same result.
I reached out to customer service after this for which I received a response 'Who can say how the price is arrived at'. They have tried explaining me dynamic price concept but that should be same for all customers.
I am very sure that they intentionally charge higher prices to old customers or frequent users of Makemytrip.
