Make my trip - Unethicl practices in booking holiday packages and high cancellation charges

A holiday package was booked with MMT and Rs. ***** was paid as the booking charge. We enquired with their representative about the visa approval chances and were apprehensive about paying a big booking sum before the visa was approved. However, the sales representative assured us that visas will be approved and the chances are very high especially the approval rate of their agency. * months later we applied for the visas as requested by them. The visas were rejected and MMT charged Rs. **,*** as cancellation fee and returned the meagre balance amount. The following unethical practices are to be highlighted:
Their policy is unfair to begin with since they charged large sums at the time of booking despite knowing that the visas are subject to approval.
Secondly, although the visa issuing country did not specify reasons for rejection, MMT team said that it is due to the pending court cases of one of the visa applicants and that such cases were seen in the past. MMT being such an experienced and established company should have not extorted so much booking money from us if they knew of such possibilities and rejection causes and should have cautioned, in which case we would have never booked the trip to begin with.
Third, when the cancellation issue was raised with the team, they said it would be reviewed and I would be informed of the same. However, the representative wasted my time, did not come up with any positive solution, dragged the issue for weeks and caused further delays due to which I was not able to proceed with booking the trip with an alternate company.
