Air India Express - Trend of delay in Flight and came to know about status while on airport

They shared an update about a delay by one hour on WhatsApp. The delayed time was *:** pm but when reached airport got to know at * pm that flight is still in Hyderabad and they said that we can't confirm the time right now.Means no update and i to wait.
I had plan and booked a surprise candle light dinner for my spouse today. Now God k ows when will the flight come.
So unprofessional. I checked the trend of last one week they are always late
