I purchased a Bajaj Chetak electric scooter in October **** and have been getting it serviced regularly at an authorized service center, strictly following the company's maintenance schedule.
However, I am facing a serious issue with the vehicle—it skids unexpectedly during normal use. Initially, I assumed it might have been due to rider error, especially after my daughter narrowly avoided an accident. But a few weeks ago, my niece also skidded while riding the scooter and suffered injuries. Fortunately, they were not severe, but the incident raised serious concerns.
Today, I personally experienced the problem. While riding the scooter at a very slow speed, it slipped again as soon as I applied the brakes lightly. This confirms there is a critical issue with the scooter’s braking system, posing a serious safety risk.
I contacted the dealership to request a pickup of the scooter for inspection, explaining that I do not feel safe riding it to the service center. They refused and insisted I bring the vehicle myself, which is unacceptable under the circumstances.
I also reached out to Bajaj customer support but, after a long wait, I was simply redirected back to the dealer—without any resolution or meaningful support.
I checked reviews of this scooter online and found that many customers are facing skid issue in this vehicle, which clearly shows manufacturing defects in the scooter.
I am extremely disappointed and distressed by this entire experience. I do not feel safe using this vehicle, and I refuse to risk any further injury to myself or my family. I no longer wish to keep this faulty scooter and demand a full refund of the purchase amount.
I request urgent action on this matter. If I do not receive a prompt and satisfactory resolution, I will be forced to escalate the issue to consumer rights forums and other appropriate legal channels.
