Intrcity Smart Bus Company - Private Bus accident

We were travelling from Belgaum to Mumbai Via Intrcity, which is a private bus company, on **th July. The bus overturned on National Highway * due to negligence of driver. We were in the upper berth (Sleeper). I suffered an Injury on my face, a bone in my face (Posterolateral wall of Maxillary sinus) got fractured. It was worse for my co- passenger, her hand bone (Humerus) broke. Still with the broken face and broken arm we managed to crawl out of bus with petrol flowing all around. We got into an ambulance and were taken to a private hospital in Kohlapur where we got our first aid. From there we were shifted overnight to Belgaum's Prabhakar Kore Hospital where she had to undergo a surgery for her hand and immobilisation for a month and a half. My jaw opening has reduced a lot and currently undergoing Conservative treatment with Jaw opening exercises which is no less than a torture, a soft diet has been recommended for me for a month because I am unable to chew. All in all our medical expenses are almost * lacs, Our professional lives have been upside down since then and mental trauma from that day is unaccountable. Despite been one week of accident, we haven't received even a single call from bus operator regarding our well-being. I did try to call Intrcity after * days of incident, they were primarily unaware of anything that might have happened, just goes to show how much they value human lives. On probing them further, they gave an excuse that it was raining and due to waterlogging the bus overturned, while I was in the entire incident myself, As I crawled out of bus there was no sign of rain and me and dozens of other people who were travelling in the same bus can confirm. I did instigate that I would file a complaint against them to which I was told to contact my bus operator through which I made the booking. Till today, no resolution in this regard have been made and we are still hanging in the hopes that a call might come from them.
